Mr Blood Sugar is built on a simple idea: if more people understood how their bodies actually handle glucose, fewer would feel confused, scared, or sold to.
Most blood sugar content online falls into two camps. Fear-mongering ("you're going to get diabetes if you don't change now") or hype ("this one supplement reverses everything"). Neither serves you.
The truth is quieter and more useful. Blood sugar is one of the most studied things in human biology. We have decades of peer-reviewed research on what affects it, how the body manages it, and what habits research suggests may help. The science exists. It just doesn't make for good clickbait.
Mr Blood Sugar takes that science and translates it into plain English. Calm. Patient. Honest about what we know — and what we don't.
No medical jargon, no buzzwords. We explain things the way a patient older sibling would.
Every claim is grounded in peer-reviewed research. When the science is uncertain, we say so.
Your body isn't broken. You're not running out of time. We don't do panic and we don't do hype.
We're not doctors. We don't diagnose, treat, or prescribe. We help you ask better questions.
Mr Blood Sugar is created by Craig Muirhead, a New Zealand–based media professional with forty years in production — most of it making advertising, in a variety of roles. Which is exactly why this site doesn't look or sound like an ad. He has no medical training, and says so plainly on his author page, along with how every article here gets researched.
The team is small and the workflow is slow on purpose — we'd rather publish less and get it right than publish constantly and get it wrong.
How we work: every article starts from peer-reviewed research indexed on PubMed. Nothing goes live without a human read-through, and when the science is uncertain, we say so on the page. If we get something wrong, we correct it and note the correction.
